Hi, I’m Mariel Samillano, an Independent Financial Security Advisor serving families across Quebec and Ontario.

My journey into financial services didn’t begin in a boardroom. It began at home—as a wife, a mother of two boys, and a busy mom working different jobs while doing everything I could to build a better future for my family.

I entered this industry because I wanted to help families prepare for the unexpected. I wanted people to understand that financial protection isn’t just about numbers, policies, or premiums.

It’s about protecting the people you love when life doesn’t go according to plan.

Then, in 2024, that purpose became personal.

When the Unexpected Happened to Us

Our family received devastating news: my husband was diagnosed with a very rare Stage 4 Ewing sarcoma.

In an instant, everything changed.

The conversations I had been having with clients about critical illness protection were no longer theoretical. Cancer had entered our own home.

And suddenly, we were the family who needed the protection.

Years before his diagnosis, we had been educated about Critical Illness Insurance. We made the decision to put coverage in place—not knowing if we would ever need it.

Then the day came when we did.

We were able to make a critical illness claim and receive the benefit.
